I think we fail to see the true nature of the danger represented here. If this ... ah ... creature started trying to act tough his/her/it’s antics would prove so amusing you might choke on anything you happened to be eating or drinking. In the extreme, the convulsions of laughter produced might cause you to strike your head when doubled over gasping for breath...
