Barcodes would be a possible solution, as would blockchain.
But that is a going-forward solution.
My missive is really aimed at the courts. Enforce the law, people. I care mostly about THIS election.
If some strong actions are not taken NOW, I expect boxes and boxes of provisional and absentee ballots to overturn more and more elections, even those with safe margins of victory.
I mean, why not? There are no consequences or controls.
Like Duncan Hunter in Ca. who had an 8 point lead, but his opponent still won't concede because the votes are still trickling in.
The governor, sec of state, and AG should have being doing something about this...The only way to solve this now is to throw out broward and palmbeach results. The courts will say no and they should be ignored.
We need to:
1. Overturn motor-voter.
2. Scrub ALL voter rolls. You must have a Government-provided ID, birth certificate and proof of residence to register. If you can’t afford an ID, the FedGov will provide you one free of charge.
3. Require, FEDERALLY, that all voter registrations are completed 30 days prior to the election so they can be VERIFIED.
4. Open the polls at 0400 hours EST, ALL across the country (that makes it on the currently mandated Tuesday after the first Monday) and are open for 24 hours. No more, no less.
5. NO news, projections, or results can be posted, broadcast, or announced until that 24 hours is up.
6. Make it a Federal crime with a MINIMUM 10 year sentence to commit vote fraud. Enforce vigorously.
7. The only absentee ballots available are to Active-Duty Military or people stationed overseas whose primary income is from that over-seas work.
8. Establish ballot-box handling rules. Any ballot box “found” after closure and submission of regular boxes, will not be opened or counted.
What am I missing?
This how we do it where I live in Tennessee,
1) You go to your precinct and present a valid photo ID. You are asked if you still live at the address on the ID. If yes, proceed to the desk.
2) The desk is alphabetical, get in line and then fill out a small piece of paper with your name, address, and sign it. It’s a legal affidavit with a number on it. The worker at the table checks the signature on the affidavit and on the ID.
3) The worker then looks into the book with all of this same voter information in it and writes down the number on the affidavit form, signs it and notes the information of state districts you are in. This book now has a copy of your signature. You sign again in the book and they check them again.
4) Wait in line, hand the voting booth worker you affidavit and they put in the cartridge to the machine, pick your elections and you vote.
I was in and out in 15 minutes at 10 am on election day.
