College football to die next. It’s death began with the 700 post season “bowl games.”
"Bowl eligibility" just doesn't have the same panache it used to have, does it? I grew up in the era of the Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl, and Sugar Bowl. There were a few second-tier bowl games (Gator, Tangerine, Sun, Bluebonnet) but nobody paid any mind to those. It wasn't a true bowl game if it wasn't on New Year's Day.
Overexposure ruins everything.
