I think that started when the government, for good or bad reasons, birthed the Dept. of Education. The Progressives saw that as an opening to propagandize our children and Conservatives were too timid or complacent to resist them.

But the thing that gets me is in spite of Trump’s success in turning the economy around, the numbers of jobs created, record low minority unemployment and standing up to the world in making America first, the morons give the Democrats a chance to destroy that. I can’t see where lack of a proper education can cause that.

I believe we are on the beginning of a long decline that may take centuries to unfold.

I think you are ignoring the acceleration of the rate of change brought on by technology.

The Roman world was not much different from the world of a thousand years before, or of a thousand years later. But look at the changes in the last two hundred years; or one hundred years. My Dad was born into a world that transported goods to market via steam engines and wagons drawn by draft animals. Electricity was a novelty. Most Americans lived without indoor plumbing and used gas or oil lights. Airplanes and automobiles were new and novel innovations. Radio as entertainment did not exist and TV did not become common until he was in his forties.

When I was a kid, the milk was delivered by a man in a white uniform with a peaked cap and a bow tie. We got our vegetables from a horse drawn wagon that came around the neighborhood; meat at the butcher shop and bread from the bakery (Where day-old bread was cheaper). There were no supermarkets or shopping malls. Our telephone was a party line for years and I was 18 the first time I saw a color TV. I was 47 years old when I first heard the term "Internet".

Our way of life is not just changing. The rate of change is accelerating exponentially. That is very scary for a lot of folks, especially my contemporary geezers.

I agree that without America, humanity is doomed.

Listening the Hannity last night about Snipes made me realize how much is at stake. If America’s voting integrity falls apart, it basically becomes Mexico. A nation where law and representation does not exist.

Mexico has everything America has to be a great nation. But isn’t. Because the foundation of law, true representation, and stability does not exist.

If that happens our obsession with stock portfolios will be a laughable relic of the past. Think World War Z. Except slower. It all will come crumbling down.

They are being educated. The constant drumbeat of all forms of media in this country is indoctrinating them.

I can't even imagine what the sentence could be for such a heinous crime against Gaia in Washington.

Heh. In my county you don’t even need a building permit to build a house. You do need an inspection of any septic system, though. And if you are borrowing money, the bank may require inspections. And really, that’s the way it should be - free markets at work.

I put up a large shed when we first moved here, a 40x25 deck on the house, a smaller on on the back of the house, and am about to finish up a 36x36 sheet metal garage. All without permits.

BTW, all of the streams around here eventually go down to flat-rock. The gravel just moves around on it. Sometimes, when the flow is weak, the water flows under the gravel (which is one to two feet thick). The stream disappears and re-appears after 50 feet of gravel.

1,000 times worse when young people are brain-washed and dumbed-down for 12-16 years by Marxists intent on doing so and in full control of our gov. education (brain-washing) system, pumping out MILLIONS of idiots every year who are very close to overwhelming us.

Trump was a God-given reaction to Obama, and the leftist pendulum is swinging back to where the Dems will never again give up control.

We are becoming a smaller minority every day. NO, I don’t think our public will mind the next 2 years of the Dems investigations.....and there will not be a reaction in 2020 to them. The Marxist media will ensure they look good, and that Trump cannot be re-elected.

Read the handwriting on the wall - even considering all the voter fraud, having TX, FL & GA so close to blue is not a trend that will be reversed. Add to that the recovered blue-ness of the Rust Belt, and the Marxists have it almost nailed down.........apart from another Divine Intervention.....

He will come, but there will be hell to pay before the final chapter ends. The many millions of abortions and the anti-Christian attitude will have to be accounted for.

I agree. I’m doing what I can with my two now-fervently needed projects, though I sense it’s too late, and actually has been too late since the Tech Commies essentially control all human communication and (soon) finances. It may be time to start creating hard copies en masse of the history of Western Civilization, particularly U.S. history, before it gets “reimagined” in ways that cannot be undone.

You make a really good point with regard to technology. Our demise might be hastened by the speed of innovation.

There is some good news with regard to technology though, especially with the resurgence of rocket launches, especially by private companies (with the requisite government subsidies of course!)

What I see happening before the ultimate crash is something like the Renaissance period where national loyalty was much less important than being a member of some court. Billionaires like Bezos, Brin, Gates, etc. are more citizens of the world than red-blooded Americans. They and those that follow in their footsteps may achieve great things as long as they can keep the Muzzies on the outside of the gates and the SJWs from dumbing down the workforce they need to implement their grand plans.

One other thing about the pace of technological change. In the past, since things didn't change that much during a person's lifetime, when someone got old they could be expected to know things and have acquired some wisdom about how to get along in the world. That is no longer the case. Who's going to ask Grandpa for help with their smart phone? Now Grandpa is thought of mostly as a future financial burden and time sump as he ages. And before that he is treated like a child and expected to spend his golden years just playing games and being entertained and trying to keep out of the way of the serious people making the big bucks.

Well, not to judge; but you seem to be turning your back on the millions of patriotic and faithful Americans who are still fighting the good fight.

You may need some education in inspiring the troops and populace:

(And by the way - it’s ‘are’ done, not ‘is’ done...)
