I attended the last (to my knowledge) Star Trek Con hosted in part by both (not one or the other) Shatner and Nimoy, circa 1992: Nimoy on Saturday, Shatner on Sunday.
Each was preceded by a video montage accompanied by a song:
Spock: “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” - U2.
Kirk: “Forever Young” - Rod Stewart.
I was at the induction of the three into the National Association of Broadcasters’ Hall of Fame, also 1992. They played a music video there that was poorly done.

There was someone I taught in CA who was very fond of U2 songs. Wonder if that was hers.
