To be fair, does the Secretary of the Air Force need to know how to fly a jet fighter? Does the Secretary of Defense need to know how to field strip an M4?

I think the Secretary of the Air Force probably SHOULD know how to fly and the Secretary of Defense should be a veteran of some branch of the service, but not necessarily know how to field strip an M4. Alternatively, leaders from aerospace companies would qualify also.
