Oh, hey, about the size thing: we are in a very rural area (a forest really). We see Wild Eastern turkeys roaming through our yard all the time when the weather is cool (they roost in the pine and oak trees). All females, but I've seen some with chicks.

One time I saw a Tom. Jeez! That guy was huge. My guess would be 40 - 50 pounds. I didn't want to run into him without a big stick or something...

Grandpa would go out the back porch to get our turkey. I’m thankful I don’t have to steam up the kitchen and pluck them these days.
