One of the funniest things I saw when stationed at Hahn Air Base, in Germany, involved “Mickey Mouse”.
It was a long weekend, and a couple of buddies and me were just touring around Deutschland.
We found a small, out-of-the-way town, and decided to stop at a Gaesthaus (Guest House, or, Pub) for a couple of beers. After having a couple of brews, I had to visit the “Herren” room (the Men’s room).
It was one of those small, German, bathrooms where you took a leak on a stone/slate wall with constant water running down it.
As I was taking care of business, I looked up on the wall, and there - in plain English - was written, “Mickey Mouse was a Jew”.
That cracked me up, partially because at the time I had no idea that Walt Disney was Jewish...and would have seen no significance in it anyway, I didn’t care one way or the other.
But the scenario of this being a German town, buried in the boonies, and seeing that graffiti in plain English just struck me as hilarious...
That’s all.
