Your name says exactly why you didn’t take your husband’s last name.....you were a Democrat. I have noticed that most Democrat Politician’s wives have different last names.
Technically, I never registered as a Democrat; I only voted that way about 90% of the time.
Interestingly, I find a lot of professional young woman who not only take their husband’s name, but use the title “Mrs.” Yet in professional correspondence, we always use the title, “Ms.” (or “Dr.” if appropriate).
