I’ve been reading about a crater in the button of the arctic floor that is releasing heat, causing ice to melt in that spot (2 x size Manhattan)

Also, they have found the rocks in that area to be radioactive.

I remember the trip of the “Manhattan” and it was 10 years before 1979.

That was October. Ice extent has grown strongly since then, and has now touched the gray area (interdecile range).

We’ll see how ice extent goes as we fall deeper into the current solar Grand Minimum. Interesting times!

It’s the third lowest when averaged over the month of October. The daily value for November 19th is the 11th lowest out of 40 observations (1979-2018). So 25% of the time (on this date) there was less ice than there is now. Not that anyone would know if it weren’t for the scientists wasting their time turning trivia into hysteria.

I don’t find it that interesting either, because there’s nothing that I can do about it. If I vastly inconvenienced myself never to operate a car and consumed only vegetables that I grew myself or bartered with other nearby organic gardeners, it still would not lead to one more ice cube of sea ice and it would all be undone in an afternoon by a single one of Al Gore’s private plane flights.
