I use bear spray. I also have a Ruger .44 mag pistol.

I spray the bullets before I load the pistol.

That way the bear spray will get to the bear much faster and seems to be more effective.

I soak in the stuff before I go out. Wash my hunting clothes in it too.

I seldom see so much as a bird in the woods, but I haven’t had any bear problems.
