Some time ago, I became convinced that most contemporary art is a well done con job. To be a successful artist today, you don’t have to have much if any artistic talent. Rather, you just have to be able to convince moneyed suckers that you have artistic talent.

That’s been my view since I was forced to take an art appreciation class as a college requirement. Classical (Greek, Roman), Asian, African if all before the modern era is to me art. It pleases the eye & to use a hackneyed phrase “enriches the soul” therefore is art. Since the modern era its art because some pompous buffoon (Who for some reason modern art patrons feel a need to impress or feel a need to be in tune with!) says its art! The buffoon may even believe its art. Personally I think he/she secretly laughs at the artist, the patrons all the way to the bank!
