You will respect your elders at Vikings games, and if you don’t, your elders will put you in a chokehold. Especially if that elder happens to be a Vikings fan and the younger happens to be a Packers fan. Proof of this truism came on Sunday Night Football as a significantly older Vikings fan attempted to put a slow-motion sleeper hold on a young Packers fan, who was apparently being too boisterous.

I’ve not watched an NFL game since the league threatened to fine the Cowboys a few years back if they put 5 blue stars on their helmets in honor of the 5 Dallas police officers that were killed by the sniper. That said, I was sick with the flu last week. On Thanksgiving day, I talked with my sister and she said that the Bears were playing so with little else to do but feel miserable, I turned the game on for a bit.
Almost after every play some player would strut or stomp around around after a play, spin the ball on the ground or some other sh**.
It’s like a damned side show out there on the field. Typical thug behavior IMHO.
I turned it off after a few minutes and took a nap with my cats on the couch.
FWIW. My cats love when I am sick so that they get couch time.
Sorry you were sick. Isn’t it a little disturbing that your cats might WANT you to be sick, for more couch time? LOL

The old guy is lucky he didn’t get his dentures knocked out of his mouth. You don’t just grab possibly drunk strangers like that over some ballgame. That kid is not your grandson. Some guys would have brandished a knife after being messed with like that.
If you can’t handle being that close to a loudmouth, then stay at home. Yes, it’s funny to look at, but I would have fought back in some manner. If senility is setting in, then handle it in some other manner. All that being said, he made the choke move very smoothly. So he has probably done this before, maybe even as recreation.

Even worse are the stupid, choreographed celebrations. As a Viking was scoring last night, he was already wildly waving his arm for teammates to join him from 20 yards away for a post-score skit. How is this NOT excessive celebration?
And to get a private box you'd better be even more independently wealthy than is needed to rent one of those aforementioned cramped seats.
Attending a major league sporting event of any stripe nowadays is well beyond the financial means of most young families.
Oh, relax will ya- these guys are young and excited and I’m all for it (choreographed celebrations) - you’re only young people once - have as much fun as you can - JMHO
If you go to a game like like that, you gotta expect lots of yelling. If that bothers you, either wear earplugs, or stay the **** home.
And most of all, don’t involve yourself in a criminal assault.
