Hi GingisK...

When I speak of evolution, I’m referring to “molecules to man”. Adaptation (which is what is happening with the bacteria and fruit flies) is not evolution.... and you’re right, it is part of God’s design.

A couple of responses to what you wrote:

***I guess you don’t know about the original experiments with flies and then bacteria. ***

On the bacteria..... Lenski’s experiment recently surpassed the 60,000th generation. They are still bacteria. Certain traits are turned on or off based on environment but they are still bacteria. No “upward” change has occurred.... just a lot of shuffling.

As for the flies.... no matter how many generations they go and no matter how many times mutations are introduced, what they wind up with are fruit flies, dead fruit flies and damaged fruit flies.

Our kids are being taught that there was a magic gene in a mud puddle billions of years ago and today.... well here we are! This most certainly is not observable, testable or falsifiable.

***Germs evolve. That is why the treatments must continually change.***

This is something that is observable.

Actually, antibiotic resistance results from less information, not more. It doesn’t evolve, essentially it devolves.

Antibiotics are injected into the cell and combine with an existing enzyme to create the poison that kills the bacteria. In the end the bacteria that survive do so because they lacked the enzyme to begin with.

The bacteria didn’t evolve something to fight the antibiotic. Essentially they were missing something that was necessary to create the poison.

It is actually a population of bacteria that is affected. Some die, some don’t.... it has nothing to do with evolution.

There have actually been bacterium revived from the 1800s that were resistant to antibiotics that weren’t developed until the 20th century.... obviously it had nothing to do with development of resistance.

I heard a great presentation on this a few years back from Dr. Kevin Anderson of the Creation Research Society.

There are some great articles on antibiotic resistance on the Answers in Genesis website if you are interested.

Blessings to you....

Looks like you are very much up to speed. I marvel at the adaptability of life. It makes it very clear to me that we're look at a very remarkable collection of engineering feats.

Bugs to human. Oh, heck no. I don't even believe that something as astounding as an eyeball, let alone color stereo vision could form accidentally.

Totally with you on that "no upward change" observation. Accidents just don't go that way, except for my meeting my lovely wife. I strongly suspect that was no accident either.
