Christian singer Lauren Daigle has faced some backlash for appearing on the talk show of Ellen DeGeneres but she says her critics are missing the 'heart of God'.
The singer was invited to perform on The Ellen Show following the release of her hugely successful album 'Look Up Child', which debuted at number 3 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 in the Christian charts.
Daigle took some heat from fans for singing 'Still Rolling Stones' off her new album, but she told Way FM Radio that Ellen had chosen the song.
Opinions were split when Daigle posted a video of the performance to her Instagram page, with some being angry that she had appeared on the show of an openly gay host.
Responding to the criticism, Daigle told Way FM Radio that Christians should be kind to everyone.
'I think the second we start drawing lines around which people are able to be approached and which aren't, we've already completely missed the heart of God,' Daigle said.
'I don't have all the answers in life, but one thing I know is that I can't choose who I'm supposed to be kind to and who I'm not, because that's the mission right? Be who Christ was to everyone as well.'
Daigle has also confirmed she will be making her debut on 'The Tonight Show' with Jimmy Fallon on November 7.
In a post to Instagram, she said it was a 'personal dream' to appear on the show.
'So excited to announce that I will be on @jimmyfallon! I always said that if I ever make it on @fallontonight, I would run and slide on his desk. That would be my dream entrance. Who knows what could happen,' she wrote.

Daigle has also performed on GMA and Dancing with the Stars, and is even being accompanied by secular artists who are increasingly taking a Gospel or faith-based direction in their music from Avril Lavigne to Justin Bieber. Even Snoop Dogg.
Can’t wait to see how this thread devolves.......
Promote the music and the message and reach new people. Good for business and good for sharing the belief system.
I do not see the problem. You can be friends to God and to the world at the same time. No problem. (/s)
All those liberal celebrities support abortion. What does it have anything to do with the heart of God and being kind to other people?
Ellen needs Jesus, just like everyone else. I work in Christian radio and we talked about this on-air. I thought it was a perfect platform to share the Good News, through music, to a huge audience.
15 “While Jesus was having dinner at Levis house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.
16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?
17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
Don’t usually save too many inside the walls of the Church....the Church being Christ followers of course.
There is an ancient Vulcan proverb: “Only Nixon could go to China.”
Love the sinner... hate the sin.

LOL! :-) I can make up my mind if II or VI was the best Trek movie :-).
many people use that to excuse wanting to hang out with sinners- “Well they can’t hear if we Christians aren’t present” (or some variant of that)
Problem is that we’re not really hanging out with them to heal them- We’re simply hanging out and silent about Christ- IF we weren’t- and we WERE doing what Christ wanted us to do, they, the sinners, would do one of two things, get saved and stop the sin, or get lost- (ie drop the Christian like a hot potato because the Christian is antithetical to their sinful lifestyle)
The key to those verses you mentioned is right at the end where Jesus states He called the unrighteous to salvation- He didn’t simply hang out with them for the sake of hanging out ‘as an example to Christians to go and do likewise’- He gave them the gospel- IF we’re honest with ourselves, how many times are we giving out the gospel when we hang out with sinners? Indifferent to their sin?
The following is a pretty good article that discusses this very point:
“Its true that Scripture tells us of Christ eating with sinners (Luke 15:1) and publicly coming to their defense, as was the case with the adulteress who faced public stoning. And, yes, in simply speaking up for them, or to them, He was defying social customs of the time and causing heart palpitations in the poor Pharisees whod never before witnessed such a thing. The New Testament tells several stories along these lines. But it certainly doesnt tell any stories where Christ accompanies a sinner in his sin, or sits by while a sin is being committed, or forgoes an opportunity to call a sinner to a life of holiness.
Christ dined with sinners in order to draw them closer to the truth. To the adulteress He said, Sin no more. To anyone who came to Him, He said, Pick up your cross and follow me. Christ instructed. He exhorted. He commanded. He showed the way. He did not hang out. There was a purpose to all of these encounters, and the purpose was always to bring the sinner out of his sin. The purpose, in other words, was to heal them.”
Note to Lauren: You’re being used, Honey! Just as the left decided to befriend the military a few years ago, they are now trying to snag left leaning Christian’s as well. Example, did you see immigration as being a Christian value on Ingraham last night?
And Paul preached in Corinth, a godless and debauched port city.
I guess he’s a compromiser, too.
Before Ellen went crazy she was actually quite a hilarious comedian.
Ellen was a judge on American IDOL?
When johnny cash started touring with Billy Graham the roughnecks showed up drunk and high. Cash was embarrassed and apologized to Billy who said why that’s who we’re trying to reach.
A lot of Christian music is just like country today. Merely pop music looking for a venue where they can get a lot of commercial success. Change the name Jesus for any random male name and they could be singing about their boyfriend. Sing the country song with a little less Twang and it could be Britney Spears.
Maybe she should go sing at Sentinel Island too...
Just ask Tim Tebow...
