We really should shut off Mexico. Just close the border all together until Mexico decides to control their Southern border. Screw the car makers and aftermarket parts makers and the border commuters. Also stop any and all remittances to MX.

5,000 migrants a week have been apprehended along the sectors more than 320 mile border5000 caught. What, maybe three not released? Add another zero for those not caught. Just within 320 miles. Every week. The system is broken and has been for decades. Indeed deport them all. Deport their families already here. Deport their anchor babies.
Do the same to those who've overstayed their visas. Any and all who aren't here legally, kick them out. Quadruple the size of ICE and put them all on this until every last one is out.
