The Navy will honor former naval aviator and 41st president George H.W. Bush on Thursday with a largest-ever 21-aircraft missing man formation as part of his funeral services in Texas. Thirty F/A-18 Hornets and Super Hornets departed Naval Air Station Oceana, Va. today ahead of the Dec. 6 internment ceremony at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum in College Station, Texas. A naval aviation official told USNI News that a missing man formation of this size is unprecedented and reflects Bush’s legacy as a naval aviator and ongoing relationship with the Navy’s carrier strike group community.

Military are odd.

They are very competitive in life, and sympathetic in death.

All in the middle is kinda shrugged off.

Awesome.

Imagine the families seeing that.

At Randolph the F18s -the blue Angels- were doing a run through on a Friday afternoon day before the air show. They were screaming just over the neighborhood treetops for like an hour.

Hub, a combat USAF fighter pilot, drove up after work, got out of his car in the driveway, in flight suit, took his gear out of the backseat as the F18s roared, rumbled and shook over our backyard at what? 500 feet?

Hub smirked saying, ‘those Navy guys really hang it out.’

Do you not remember when W flew onto the carrier? He was mocked for the remainder of his presidency about it and just about everything else he did. Too bad he turned out to be a New Workd Order guy just like Bush 41

Unprecedented because we’ll have 21 planes in a group that can all actually fly at the same time.

Bush and Clinton were partners in crime. Both of massive disservice to the country.

He was sucking them dentures, but he stood and saluted.

He showed up at age 95 when it is very difficult to travel. He stood! And this is what counts.

Perot believes we left people behind and Bush wouldn’t attempt to do any investigation.

He really started hating Bush for his dirty tricks campaigning. The people feeding the press with lies had to be Bush. Clinton wasn’t going to do anything to hurt Perot. Fake News has been around a long time.

My brother was stationed at Oceana NAS back in 1989-90. Flew an A-6. My sister and I used to go visit all the time. Good times hanging at the O-Club. (My sister married another pilot...they have 8 kids..one of whom got her wings in Pensacola a few months ago and is flying Seahawks).

Seeing that GHW was CIA head..... This was probably an occasion for many past CIA “luminaries” to meet and greet. Like old home week.

I forgot about that. After the sub rescued him he went back to his squadron and immediately resumed flying.

But if it is one that he flew it wasn’t preserved because Bush flew it. I would think it’s purely coincidental. Unless the Deep State way back then had picked Bush to be president. With his Daddy’s connections you never know. (Smile)
