An Ohio father punished his daughter by making her walk five miles to school in 36 degrees after she was thrown off the bus for bullying. Matt Cox of Swanton said in a Facebook post that his 10-year-old daughter was suspended from the school bus last Friday. This was the second time that she had gotten into trouble for bullying. The young girl told her father that he would have to drive her to school for an entire week.

Complete title - "'Parents need to hold kids accountable': Ohio dad forces his 10-year-old daughter to walk FIVE MILES to school in freezing weather after she was kicked off school bus for a second time for bullying"

Nothing wrong with this punishment. Better than a parent who blames the school.

36 degrees isn’t freezing.

Three miles maybe, but not five. :-)

I hope he walked with her. 5 miles would allow for some much needed conversation.

I have to admit that five miles is a bit far for a 10-year-old to walk... at least unsupervised. If dad is willing to walk with her (which he should) then this is appropriate.

The punishment is no punishment if the parents have to drive them to school...

Well, my Dad had to walk 6 miles to school every day for 12 years when he was a kid. No bus in the rural area.

My kids had to run 6 miles every day for cross country track.

My only concern would be, in this day and age, that some one would abduct her, so I’d probably want to find a different way, if it was my kid.

Quite right. That’s good parenting.

Bullying is a learned behavior. What is the source ?

That daughter will turn out to be a much better person than Hillary Clinton, Moochelle, and ANY of the clown cast of CNN.

The dad followed her in his vehicle, filming her.

She might have needed more time to think about her actions.

Yep. Seeing as the child was only 10, that would have been awesome.

Not enough facts here. These days the term bullying is frequently used in the education system for those who won’t affirm and embrace the homosexual lifestyle or otherwise offending snowflake adults.

Heh, considering kids will spend the entire day on the ski slopes when the local schools have a snow day, I don’t see what the big deal is.

The girl also said she had been bullied by bigger kids.

From a Dad who thinks that his kid walking 5 milers is condine punishment. Hope he gave her an iPhone to listen to some tunes while she endured this outrage. /s/
