WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. -- A hunter in Williamson County could be in the running for one of the largest bucks ever shot in America. (snip)

...conservation officers told him they think the buck is 7 to 9 years old, weighs around 265 pounds alive, and could have as many as 51 scoreable points.

I’m not surprised by this. My brother lives in Williamson County and has hit at least two or three deer, with his car, every year, for the past several years.

The call him the “deer-slayer” at his workplace.

There’s a great Animaniacs episode where a young squirrel watches Bambi and balls forever about Bambi’s mom dying.

His grandmother squirrel was an actress and takes him to meet the actress who played Bambi’s mom, they were friends, so he’ll stop balling.

Eventually it’s all settled and they are flying home.

The movie on the return trip is “Old Yeller”. The Grandma just shakes her head... LOL

a couple clips from it:

Nice Buck ....

Been hunting deer since the 50’s as a six year old ..... seems recently with the onset of deer feeders and commercial fill for em do we see these genetic freak multiple point racks ...... Our pre-season lure on our property was just a salt lick and apples or dried ears of corn scattered near our blinds .......

These days with deer feeders versus food plots planted ..... seems if the critter has a rack like that its a wall hanger versus a meat harvest for the family freezer.

Not a GMO pro or con sort but just seems commercial feed sources are suspect.

...my opinion.

I wonder what the B+C is on that one. I’d hate to meet him in a dark alley.

Is it an ad for dead downwind? And Hornady?

That buck must have found some mineral blocks or deposits to be pointed like that.

BTW, vanilla is the best cover scent/ attractant.

Maybe the biggest buck in America this year. Not a record buck.

"I took the deer to a processing center, and I'll get a little meat from it, and then I donated the rest to people that need it," Szableswki said. "I felt like I needed to. I felt like the Lord was telling me to do that."

You are probably right. I’m surprised they didn’t show the feed brand alongside the other products on display.

The deer attractant in our yard is my wife’s flower beds, in spite of my regular spraying with deer away.

Gave me an idea. I’ll show a picture of the deer I got next to my wife’s flower bed with a bottle of the deer away.

Seriously? Product placement in the pics. Deer hunting has gone full NASCAR. Money talks and I’m no longer interested in anything this fellow’s claims to have done.
