I would really say this is not simply about a gas tax, they seem pissed about A LOT of stuff.

Coming up on the 30th anniversary of Ceausescu on the balcony in Bucharest.
They never learn.

My regret:
A lot of this violence is meaningful.
Yet there are recent French arrivals who are quite naturally attracted to violence, regardless of the causes; they will join in, and their thinking is utterly different.
I think it will be hard for a lot of people to seperate the background noise violence from the component of the destruction that is CONstructive.

It started as a gas tax protest. Agitators joined and ramped it up. It's taken a life of it's own now, as the violence escalates. I'm not sure who, if anyone, can control this mob at this point. It will have to burn itself out or be crushed.
This is the danger of letting Antifa commit chaos at will. The violence, at some point, could escalate beyond anything even they had planned, and take it in places they didn't anticipate.

The smugness was strong in Macron, trying to shame Trump at the G20 and calling nationalists traitors.
Good to see him have his ass handed to him in such a decisive manner.
In the near future, look to the EU Army to “handle” these types of uprisings. WWIII in the way.

Gotta hand it to the French. They pretty much invented the urban riot.
