Not yet. I was watching SkyNews earlier. The wording of May’s eventual departure has enough wiggle room for May to change her mind.

May is not resigning

She is merely saying she will not run for re-election in 2022. And has the option of changing her mind.

May is gone

Nonsense. It's only December.

Yes, the UK could pull the plug tomorrow. But unless it can figure out the customs union its economy is completely screwed because it has spent the last fifty years integrating with economies in continental Europe. Sure they can build trade links elsewhere but that happens slowly and lots of companies wouldn’t survive an abrupt transition. The leave people way understated how hard and painful it was going to be, which left May with the impossible job of selling reality to a lot of angry voters.

This is stupid. Just because the UK is not longer in the EU doesn’t mean trade stops between them! LOL!

Not resigning yet.

However after the last General Election and making a hash of Leaving the EU, her days are numbered even if she wins today’s vote.

Even if she wins she will be out by the end of 2019 to give a new leader time to prep for the 2022 General Election.

The Tories will need better leadership to beat Labour and Comrade Jeremy Corbyn.

She has forestalled the effort by calling for a leadership vote within the Conservative Party. That vote was just held and closed at 4:00 EST and now results have been announced at 5:00 EST and she has won the Conservative Party Leadership vote by 200 to 117.

Hardly any sort of expert but this seems to mean that as the Conservative Party does not have a majority, she still is in office unless she can’t form a coalition to preserve herself in a no confidence vote. She wins, UK and BreExit are in shambles.

One can always hope. It has to start with something.

They’re in the customs union now and a huge tariff wall is going to go up day one unless they can negotiate otherwise. That’s why this is complicated.

They are going to get it back. Haven’t you read 1084 by George Orwell? Playing out exactly as predicted.
