If you paid attention the premise was pretty awful.
What it was was socially progressive for the time. BIG percentage of their episodes were socially conscious. Major boring. I still avoid those. On the other hand, they also had some really funny ones, like with the guy who thought he was a vampire. And traditional - one gets poisoned and they have to find the antidote in time. Or one gets poisoned but he thinks they’re still playing hide and seek and won’t let himself be found in time to save him.
