PI Jay J. Armes tells a lot of stories in his book "The Investigator" and some say they were tall tales or exaggerated. However, one I remember quite well was about a con lady who had invested her money wisely and made far more than she ever stole. She hired Jay J. Armes to help her return stolen money and items to make everything right without getting caught.

One of her scams was driving off with new cars and the final act was to return two Cadillac vehicles to the dealer spotless, with no fingerprints and the amount it would be to lease them in the car.

According to the book, they enjoyed watching the dealer employees freak out from across the street in a hidden vantage point.

Talk to any long term LEO and they well have a lot of stories.

That to the average citizen don’t sound true.

Most people are not exposed to the criminal side of things.
