I think it more likely that the Mesopotamian lore was based off Enoch then the other way around.

Possibly, but the Book of Enoch as we know it now and as it was known in the time of Christ wasn't around then (this is right around the time of the Flood). It is quite possible that stories of Enoch were told around the time of the development of these Mesopotamian myths and those stories made it into the Mesopotamian lore.

What the Mesopotamian lore includes is a character that some archaeologists believe is Enoch himself.

What all this lore actually does is paint a really interesting picture of what was going on in the world before and after the flood.

It sort of explains what was going on in the Gilgamesh epic and sort of shows how that mirrors (sort of) the Flood story and Genesis 6.;-)

Frankly this stuff makes my head spin but it very interesting if you are into archaeology, the Flood, Enoch, and the watchers.
