That is the truth.
It is reflected in significant number of vacant stadium seats. Despite the NFL’s open support of the protests in 2017, I would bet that there is some collusion between the front office and the media (networks) to downplay (i.e. not show) the protests. They both need to stop the financial bleed, and to keep calling attention to protests is a negative.
After watching no NFL last year, I have watched (as a captured audience while visiting someone) a sum total of 30 minutes of NFL in 2018. The game looks so different to me now, I have no interest. They should remove the red-white-and-blue from the NFL symbol. The billion dollar protected industry really harmed its brand.
Have not watched a single minute of the NFL this season or last. Don’t even miss it. It’s as if it never existed, apart from reading articles like this, where I can relish it’s slow roll into oblivion. Yes, it is sad that liberals have destroyed another once-great American tradition/institution, but also encouraging that so many have rejected their leftist crap.
