Honestly, with the possible exception of Episode VIII and maybe Episode VII, I’d argue I was made into an “Episode Never Again” upon learning that Lucas actually did base not just the Ewoks, but also the Rebels on the Vietcong since 1973. That definitely was a massive betrayal for me, especially when I viewed the Rebels as being the American Minutemen, or at the very least the French Resistance. To have him bash his own country of origin and hail our enemies, the guys who would slaughter their own people, especially religious people of various stripes, simply for a sheer laugh to bring about Marxism... it’s... it’s just...! (Yells in the air with anguish). Thanks to that, I have to root for the bad guys, and I normally make it a point to avoid doing that, even those I actually sympathize with, that’s the problem.
And honestly, if Lucas were still around, I’m willing to bet that he would eventually sign off on gay stories (in fact, technically, he already did with some of the later EU stories), and I don’t mean that in a good way, obviously.
I did not know that. I’m horrified. Leftists and especially those Hollywood leftists are beyond redemption.
