Starting today, our format will be a little different. Maris Crane, like many, print out their puzzle, then work them by hand. I took her suggestion to double space the puzzle.

Some others, who are really good, add an additional challenge, by solving one sentence at a time, (before going to the next), and some of you are solving one word at a time, so we'll try to post the puzzle in three or more "lines."

Many have suggested that we omit the hint, and give it ONLY if someone asks. So, starting today, no hint. If someone asks for one, just post that "I need a hint," and a fellow Freeper will give you one. BUT ONLY ONE HINT. Just refer them to the hint given.

TODAY'S CRYPTOGRAM IS SHORT, BUT A LITTLE TRICKY.

Some really great tips on solving these from many of you yesterday and days before. You might want to review all the posts from yesterday. Thank you to those of you who took the time to post this advice. Please keep it coming, and repeat the tips now and then, as we're getting new players.

Our little "Today's Cryptogram Ping List" is growing, and I appreciate all the responses and suggestions for Today's Cryptogram. Just send them to me by private reply. We'll try to work them in as we go.

Let me know if you want on or off our ping list.

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.

For example:

AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram)

Please don't post the answer for everyone to see, but you're free to post how long it took you to figure it out, and you can certainly post the answer to my private reply.

If you're starting out and need more clues, let me know.

Beware, the game is very addictive, to the point that many people don’t start the day without solving it. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

If you can solve this under 8 minutes you're good. Under 5 minutes is very good. Under 3 excellent. Under 2 minutes, exceptional.

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it here:

http://www.hjkeen.net/htoys/cryptogm.htm

It’s easier to work on it without having to use your pencil.

Got to watching the BAMA game last night, and fell asleep as it was looking like a wipe. So, got up early and posted today’s cryptogram early.

OTOH, there are some of you still doing these in the early AM.

Our ping list is growing, we have 32! Let me know if you want on or off.

I figured out everything except “Albert Camus.”

What does that stand for?

Even with messing around in word. trying to come up with something that worked better than a pencil. I’ll stick with the pencil.

When you don’t have paper and pencil this works nicely.

😝 I kept spinning my wheels until I solved that word; after that, I was rate-limited by typos on that screen where you scroll down the list of radio buttons showing which letter to pick.

That’s actually a pretty good time without a hint. The puzzle was not as easy as it looks. Good job.
