Somebody else should set it up, I'm kind of... controversial.
The parrot theoretically gets 25 minutes flight per battery but it's more like 20.
What's cool is that the controller and the drone take the same battery so when
the drone gets low, I can just swap out with the controller so I've got an
automatic spare always. Still good to carry a couple spares anyway though.
lol... well some thing never change! (...thats why I disappear for years at a time!...)
I’ve read that cold really limits battery life on drones. OBX is a great place for kiting, constant wind. Also true on the mainland side, the so-called inner banks which are not nearly as popular or crowded. Tourists by and large don’t know about that.
East Texas sunrise:
My buddy's Mavic:
Here’s Cedar Island, not much there other than the ferry landing, a campground, a riding stable and Sharky’s lol, but great kiteboarding. Ignore the poor video quality and annoying music.

bttt!
When did you move to Texas?? I thought you were in Kentucky!?? (...Memories of 3 inch holes blown thru the fridge down range!!)
I’ve always been in Texas.
Flew over Kentucky once, but not with a drone.
Must have been an impostor.
Im a flat water kinda guy!! and warm water!! cool vid though!
hmmm who the heck was it then?? ok my bad!! cool shots though. would like to fly in tandem with some other drone to get shots like that!
That’s on the sound in September, the NC sounds are quite shallow and get very warm in summer, water’s probably 85 degrees compared to the ocean east of there being probably 80. It’s not normally quite that active as far as swells. You can tell the ocean’s not far away but not much for surf.
I've been watching as many Anafi videos as I can find and it appears the two are quite close except the Anafi doesn't have "obstacle avoidance".......Don't know if that's a major concern or not.
The Mavic Pro is several hundred dollars more so that's a major problem for me.
All in all, the Anafi has been rated really well......especially for the camera quality.
Thanks
Obstacle avoidance = proximity sensor.
The Mavic’s works pretty good, but I can live without it for a few hundred dollars.
I need to lay hands on the Anafi controller before I commit though.
So far it only references “phone” for use as viewscreen.
That’s too small, I want to use the Ipad, like the Bebop
controller allows.
Still and all, it’s a hella nice GPS drone (either one) for the price.
The Walmart drone has minimal instruments and half your
time is spent trimming the thing into a state of stability.
Look away too long and it'll wander off somewhere and wreck itself.
When I got the Parrot, I was paranoid as hell to let the thing out
of my sight for maybe a month. Ultimately I got to trust that it
wasn't going to wander off and the instruments were accurate
and sufficient to maintain control. That opened up a whole new vista, tell you what.
The mighty Walmart drone:
To light, to affected by wind and just a bugger to get used to.
Once I can figure it out and get used to it, I think I'll upgrade to the Parrot Avani........
Thanks for your input........
Since that’s what gets done to chicken-and-goat harassing coyotes, drones will now probably meet the same fate...
