No, when the droners decided to leave the area, they set the drone on "auto follow" at a specific altitude. No controlling is needed.
Then the tweeker decided to follow and the droners drove slow enough to let the tweeker follow them into and out of the subdivision until he ran out of gas. In the last video you see the droners parked and waiting for the drone to land by their car.
That's probably a $2,000 + drone which are really cool.......
