“Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper butted heads with Times Square security after event organizers told them that CNN would not be invited back next year if they didn’t relinquish their umbrellas...”
Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper don’t own hats and slickers? Or a a vinyl poncho?
Back when I worked in DC every now and then it’d be a rainy day. I had an umbrella but I’m also six-foot-five. Which meant my eyeballs came right about the level of the little spokes that come out of the end of an umbrella when it is fully extended. So...I also wore sunglasses, or safety glasses. It was something I just had to do to avoid eye contact with one of them pokey little metal spokes that were all around me. Truth be told I much preferred rain gear that was more effective but my umbrella also served as a bit of a shield against all the other umbrellas that were flocking down the boulevards to meet me.
