Today’s Cryptogram

Today's Cryptogram: This is a bit tricky so, I’m giving you a hint at the end of the post. Don’t scroll down if you don’t wish to see it.

XEWFD HKCTL MFPW QNEQVLWL; VDMWEL MFPW BKLMWL. BFLMKCXDVC KEPKCX

Our last puzzle:

LIFE IS TEN PERCENT WHAT HAPPENS TO YOU AND NINETY PERCENT HOW YOU REACT TO IT. CHARLES R. SWINDOLL

Not as easy as you’d think, although there are plenty of “E”s here. A two letter second word in a sentence is frequently going to be “IS” and when that second letter of the first word is an ”I” then you start thinking that first word is a noun like “LIFE” or “LOVE”, but if the second word is “IT” or “IN” the first word might be “LIVE” or “GIVE.” Still, you get the “E” and you should be off and running.

You can find this little fun word game, to combat early dementia and senility in us baby boomers, in several daily publications, unfortunately they are copyrighted so we can't use them here. So, we're just going to make up our own.

The way it works is a letter stands for another letter.

For example:

AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram)

Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated.

If you can solve this under 8 minutes you're good. Under 5 minutes is very good. Under 3 excellent. Under 2 minutes, exceptional.

HINT for Today Cryptogram W=E

If you need a little help you can copy the cryptogram and paste it here:

It’s easier to work on it without having to use your pencil.

Let me know if you want on or off our Cryptogram Ping List.

I solved the first name first (on a SWAG), then the last name came easily. The rest of the puzzle was quickly filled from there.

I did the same thing. I tinkered around for a bit and then decided that there couldn’t be that many ten-letter first names that don’t have an E in them. Once the first name was in, the rest took about 60 seconds.

Thanks for mentioning solving the first name first. Once I got that the rest was easy. Otherwise I was stuck 🤯

Abandoned hope & returned to the fray several times, without the first name hint and google look up 10 letter names I never would have gotten there.
