Let me guess, they believed Republicans started the KKK. I'm getting so tired of ignorance that runs rampant in this country. Which means they probably do not even know that the Republican Party was created to combat slavery in the United States. That they were successful before the first term of a Republican President even completed, thanks to the end of the Civil War 5 days before Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by a southern Confederate Democrat supporter John Wilkes Booth.
Many of them will admit that the Democrats formed the KKK but will just say ignorantly (or just lie blatantly) that Republicans and Democrats “switched sides” after that through Nixon’s “southern strategy” or through the “Dixiecrats.” Real mumbo jumbo nonsense.
This kind of thinking is not limited to the Democrats. It's like the Muslims, who "know" that Jesus, Moses and Elijah were really Muslim prophets who hadn't figured it out yet.
There is a term for this kind of theory, but I don't think the relevant word can be used on a family friendly site.
All the leftists I know claim that those democrats were actually republicans, and they had a name change where they are now republicans and the good guys are now democrats.
I usually laugh in their faces.
The Democrats try to counter their real history by saying that the Republicans and Democrats “swapped” ideologies back in the 1960s. Like they flipped a coin or something. I think that’s why they don’t teach real history in school anymore.
Freepers who have not seen, "The Men Who Built America", then I strongly recommend it. It is a must see. They are 4 parts to it. They tell the story and have actors. President Trump is in it briefly too.
Anybody with even a rudimentary knowledge of America history knows the Dummycrats have always been the party of hatred and racism.
If it was not for the dreadful, biased teaching in public schools the Dummycrats wouldn’t even get 2% in any future electoral contest
