1. Singer needs to be run out of town (and into prison)
2. Maybe the movie was either better, or the Hollywood foreign press doesnt have PC as far up its colon as Hollywood does. Hollywood cant vote for films about white people, but maybe foreigners are more color blind.
I notice its now available for download.
America has been mocking God for a long time, not least since Roe v Wade...
EGO, or EGGO? That is the question.
I checked again on Prime and its for preorder for February. - which I am doing now! (One Amazon Page said 1/3.)
The performance of Gwylim Lee as Brian May was very good - Hes been one of the sidekicks on Midsomer Murders but hes in the big time now!
I read that Sasha Baron Cohen wanted to do it ONLY if he could portray Mercury with warts and all.
Queen refused, and wanted it be be more about the band.
Apparently the "sanitized" version carried the day.
Not to diss the actor who played him, but Cohen would have made it much more interesting.
And accurate.
But I wager it would have never received a Golden Globe, or Oscar nomination on that basis.
It would make too many people uncomfortable.
I look forward to seeing it. I saw the real Brian May last night at the GGs. For one second I forgot there was a movie about his band up for awards!
“and they kept the faggotry to a minimum.”
I’m with that other poster. I’m not into faggotry at all. I read about that Beale Street movie on IMDB. Saw the word racism. Not interested in that movie now. Yes, racism exists today and is shameful, but I don’t need another Hollywood treatment of it.
Not sure who is Mike Meyers.......
Bohemian rhapsody was a good movie. My favorite part was when Freddy’s father was talking about how they had to flee the muslims. Yes, it explored the seedier side of Freddy’s life, but it didn’t invite you into the bedroom and shove it in your face (things were implied without being explicit). Took my 16 year old to see it; she’s now a huge Quuen fan.
Best part is that she wants to learn more about the music I liked growing up: Kansas, ELO, Rainbow, Kiss, Journey, Led Zeppelin, the Who.
I went to see BH about 3 weeks ago. I asked the cashier, a post millennial male if it was good? Did you see it? He said yea it was awesome and he wanted to see it again.
I’m sure he didn’t even know who Queen was before the movie.
Even if the targets of sexual misconduct were adults, misconduct is misconduct.
It’s queer how the mythmaking hero worship of a flawed man is celebrated as being “out there” and grabbing all he wants (sexually). He was “his own man”.
But the flaws of those making the movie about him are considered “controversial”.
Better not try to make bio-pics about David Bowie or Led Zeppelin either...
Two filmmakers were locked up under Obamunism.
How many has Donald Trump pursued?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Is_God_Dead%3F
“Is God Dead?” was an April 8, 1966, cover story for the news magazine Time.[1] A previous article, from October 1965, had investigated a trend among 1960s theologians to write God out of the field of theology. The 1966 article looked in greater depth at the problems facing modern theologians, in making God relevant to an increasingly secular society. Modern science had eliminated the need for religion to explain the natural world, and God took up less and less space in people’s daily lives. The ideas of various scholars were brought in, including the application of contemporary philosophy to the field of theology, and a more personal, individual approach to religion.
The issue drew heavy criticism, both from the broader public and from clergymen. Much of the criticism was directed at the provocative magazine cover, rather than the content of the article. The cover all black with the words “Is God Dead?” in large red text marked the first time in the magazine’s history that text with no accompanying image was used. In 2008, the Los Angeles Times named the “Is God Dead?” issue among “10 magazine covers that shook the world”.
Respectfully, it is sexes, not genders.
I know a British woman who told me Mercury seduced her female friend in their young adulthood. She is a blunt person not given to hyperbole, so I believe her.
I agree that he was indiscriminately hedonistic.
But then I do not take seriously any of these labels. There is no such thing as a homosexual, since there is no such thing as a functional from of sexuality between two persons of the same sex.
It is excessive hedonism and eroticism.
The Long March Through the Institutions emphatically included seminaries.
Fuller Theological was one of the first and worst.
I would not spend a quarter to attend almost any of them now.
Yes, I did, thanks........................
“...Kansas, ELO, Rainbow, Kiss, Journey, Led Zeppelin, the Who.”
Score! I still listen to ELO at least every week! :)
well I sure didn’t notice him in the movie
