the country was/is a lot better off because they were leading the country back then.

Right, they left office with the nation suffering the biggest economic crisis since the Great Depression. Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, it was a great play wasn’t it?

Barney Fag and others sabotaged the economy.

Barnhy got a piece of young male ass and Jamie Gorelick got $25,000,000 pieces of silver.

Or do you discount that Bush was calling for investigations into Fannie and Freddie in 2003?

Bush and Chaney were in charge. They had a program of subsidized housing loans for minorities with bad credit. When the recipients couldn’t pay the market tanked

Trump has called Bush the worst Republican president. Sheeple like you just don’t get it, you always stick up for for the GOP establishment , even while they secretly smirk and sneer at you, their obedient lessers

https://www.nytimes.com/2003/09/11/business/new-agency-proposed-to-oversee-freddie-mac-and-fannie-mae.html

By STEPHEN LABATONSEPT. 11, 2003

The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.

Under the plan, disclosed at a Congressional hearing today, a new agency would be created within the Treasury Department to assume supervision of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the government-sponsored companies that are the two largest players in the mortgage lending industry. The new agency would have the authority, which now rests with Congress, to set one of the two capital-reserve requirements for the companies. It would exercise authority over any new lines of business. And it would determine whether the two are adequately managing the risks of their ballooning portfolios. The plan is an acknowledgment by the administration that oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- which together have issued more than $1.5 trillion in outstanding debt -- is broken. A report by outside investigators in July concluded that Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors, and critics have said Fannie Mae does not adequately hedge against rising interest rates.

...''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''

And when the CommieRats tank the economy this time around to sink Trump’s re-election bid in 2020, you’ll blame the President again?

"No thanks. I can pass on anything he does.Hes “the best out there “ because they’re all crap"

YES!! I pass on HollyWeird and all their so called great actors. Living life through these mostly disgusting people is something I don't need.

If they could ever get it through their heads that acting is generally fiction, make believe....they really are not these super heroes they are imagining themselves as. No respect from me for someone who can't step out of the character they are playing and realize they are regular people who do not deserve the peach crates that so many allow them to stand upon.

Sad to see Freepers stepping up to defend them

1. I for one do not defend most of their policies. I refused to vote for Bush in 2004, after reluctantly voting for him in 2000; his willingness to expend our soldiers’ lives in foreign wars while not defending our borders was the end for me.

2. I defend anyone from gratuitous abuse. I have frequently here and elsewhere defended Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen (neither of whom I respect or trust) regarding the appalling abuse of their Constitutional Rights by lawfare mobster, Robert Mueller.

3. If you think that the fellow travelers or their useful idiots on the left, like Christian Bale, will ever differentiate between Dick Cheney and a genuine conservative, then you are woefully naive.

4. I submit that your position is both self-serving and short-sighted: First they came for Dick Cheney, but I did not like him, so I did not care...

Sad to see FReepers who refuse to denounce abusive leftist propaganda.

I am not enamored of him. Neither do I endorse hysterically hateful propaganda like this.

Dick Cheney is ultimately a pretext: This is an attack on all Republicans, especially Donald Trump.

Excusing it is inviting a bulls-eye on your own back. If you cannot see that, then I pity you.

Right, they left office with the nation suffering the biggest economic crisis since the Great Depression.

You must be the biggest dumbass here on FR, and lost your way while heading to the DU.

I doubt anybody else here blames Bush for the "great depression". The FACT is that, the real-estate collapse brought down the economy and that was because of the idiotic liberal policies of the Clinton and Jimmy Carter administration. Bush warned about what could happen and democrats stopped him from acting to head off what he and others saw happening.

The collapse was something that too many years to build up, and no matter who was president, it was going to happen sooner or later.

Now, go back and enjoy your CNN and the DU is that way, but not here.

How does one choose a winner among the pedophiles, junkies, alcoholics, sexual abusers, nut cases, & just plain ol’ jerks in Hollywood? It must require a lot of alcohol & drugs to make such a choice.

Until you learn about Bush’s disastrous housing policies - subsidizing loans for low income minorities with bad credit - please stop pinging me. I can’t converse with someone who doesn’t know what he’s talking about

And if you thinks hating on Bush makes me a DUer, you must not be following the news (I’m not surprised). These days the Democrats love Bush. They can’t say enough good about him at MSNBC. They finally woke up and realized he agrees with them on big government and open borders

: This is an attack on all Republicans, especially Donald Trump.

Not really. The movie focuses on Cheney’s role in bringing on the Iraq war. Trump wasn’t for that war. He called it the most disastrous in US history, and slammed both Bush and Cheney for launching it

No, you dope!

Bush did NOT start the housing market low-income/no-down-payment mortgage crisis. Those policies were the democrats' doing, and what Bush did was merely to encourage people to get theirs too, though that part was ill-advised. In any case, it was Bush who warned about the ever-mounting mortgage crisis, and the democrats stopped him cold.

So, IT's YOU that needs to know what the heck YOU'RE talking about before spouting off nonsense.

And, it's not about YOU hating Bush; it's about YOU sounding like DUer because of your blame games with Bush, where he was just, merely there when the mortgage/housing crisis was building up and eventually collapse. It's the same kind of situation that Bush found himself in with the 9/11 attacks which were already planned and ready to go before he was even elected. Do you want to blame him for 9/11 too? After all, he was president when it happened.

And, again, the DU is that way.
