Jets fans are ticked off about Adam Gase hire
NY Post ^ | January 9, 2018 | Ted Holmlund

The Jets’ hiring of Adam Gase has been met with mostly pessimism and worse from a beaten-down fan base, but there were some fans who like the move. Here is a sampling of the reactions to the hire on Twitter: I feel like somebody should come out with cameras now… the @nyjets can’t be this stupid — @looseckannon120 #jets are the #Mets with football helmets — @TomMorache

I was listening to the WFAN and the Jets fans were dismayed and angry. This whole hiring reeks of office politics. GM Mike Maccagnan did not want to hire Mike McCarthy who might challenge him over personnel decisions. Instead he hires the Fish reject who will play nice. After three years in Miami, the whole Dolphin locker was glad to see Gase leave. /src on/I am sure Gase will develop Darnold like he developed Tannenhill./src off/

Seems like an awful hire. As a Packer fan, I thought McCarthy would be a perfect fit. He would be all but guaranteed to make them a winning program. Gase is not impressive.

The fact that the Chicago Bears turned around so quickly once Gase was finally let go followed by Gase bringing Jay Cutler to Miami after seven long years of failure in Chicago should tell every Jets fan just how bad Adam Gase really is.

Honest to god anything the Jets do isn’t newsworthy.

That would make the annual I-75 battle more interesting. Lions or UD versus Toledo...

Oh, and, why not make the Toledo Strip change hands depending on the annual winner?

As a Dolphins fan I can say that Gase is singularly focused on offense and was busy calling predictably bad plays. Third down conversion rate was dismal. The defense was a disaster and Gase showed little or no leadership there. He appears to have as much personality as a 2X4.

Apart from that, he’s a great head coach.

Supposedly they let Sam Darnold sit in on the interview, and this ended up being largely his call.

Story seems similar in Cleveland.

Just hope that Gase quits at his opening press conference (ala Belichick and the Jets).

So they’re saying Rich Kotite is unavailable...?!

He will come out of retirement to again share his sports management skills.

I seem to recall that Patriots fans weren’t too thrilled when Belichick was first hired, after he flamed out in Cleveland.

If the NFL had promotion/relegation, like soccer, the Lions would be in the 4th Division by now.

I’m still shaking my head about Kingsbury getting the Cards job.

I figured that must have been because nobody else wanted the job.

The rumor is the J-E-T-S offered the job to Kingsbury after he finished his interview.

Yep, Kingsbury got the job because of Mahomes.

Last night we ate in a restaurant with an autographed picture of Rich Kotite over the bar. He used to eat there many years ago and we go there a lot. Every time I see that picture it makes me think of the movie “The In Laws” where Peter Falk played Vince the crazy CIA agent. He had a picture of The Bay of Pigs in Cuba hanging in his office. It had a dedication on it that read something like “To Vince, At least we tried. JFK”. That to me sums up Rich Kotite and the Jets.

It's adorable that anyone thinks that "ticked off" isn't a constant.
