A 14-year-old boy who has autism got to celebrate his birthday by fulfilling one of his wishes at an Alabama Chick-fil-A.
One store in Mobile, Ala., opened its doors on Sunday, when Chick-fil-A is typically closed, for Elijah Sprague so he could help run the drive-thru.
Walt Gilstrap, the manager of the restaurant and Elijahs uncle, along with the owner, Mr. Glen, let Elijah run the drive-thru window where he passed out cookies to about 40 cars. The participants then went inside the Chick-fil-A to finish celebrating Elijahs day with a festive cookie cake, Mobile, Ala., news station WKRG reported.

Looks like he's having fun.
Aww, that is great! Chick-fil-A is awesome!
Yes, that’s a great, great story.
It’s good to hear this kind of news once in a while. Still good people in the world.
It’s surprising yahoo would put it up.
Our Hollywood CFA is a money generator. There was not one time, day or night, that the drive thru was 20 cars deep at minimum. The crowd is pro CFA in a very blue city and even if the microphones said “God bless you! Convert to Christianity!”, they wont care..
Just by being who they are and doing what they do Chick-Fil-A makes the world a better place.
One chicken sandwich at a time. :)
It sure is
I suspect I'll be getting a few "how insensitive of you" posts...feel free!
I tried living in San Diego a couple years ago. The CFAs near me had the longest drive-thru lines I’ve still ever been in. They had wait times more than the In-N-Out locations, if that was possible.
same thing with In N Out. I could never understand the nimrods waiting and wasting 30 minutes of their lives IN the car when they can just park and WALK in.
Our CFA has the same weird drive thru and extremely tight as they tend to block the inner street. The easy solution is to park ACROSS the CFA which is a Rite Aid and walk 100 feet..
BUT NO. these idiots want to wait in their car..
I suspect this was done this way because they needed to do it on a day they weren’t slammed with customers. It wasn’t working on a Sunday, and they weren’t requiring employees to work on Sunday. It was a good deed done on a Sunday. And the kid is related to one of the employees. So this was really about family, anyways. So, what is wrong with that?
Chic-fil-A is a fantastic company
You could tell the gay mafia was out in full force downvoting the article in the comments section.
It is always lawful to do good on the Sabbath. The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. Great story!
AND the food's great too!
I don’t think you’re insensitive.
I do think you may have misunderstood why they chose to do this wonderful act of kindness on a Sunday. Opening it up on Sunday for a short while allowed this young man to ‘work’ in a job to the best of his ability without causing mayhem and frustration to folks who don’t know the issues facing the young man.
It was not about the young man’s attitude, nor would it have taught him about rules. It was most likely about drivers that would not understand what was happening and would have had fits because the kid ‘didn’t understand rules, and do it right’ as far as their own views.
I concur. I have been in ministry. That means working on the Sabbath.
Chik-fil-A: a pro-American, caring company.
Democrats - Just chickenshits.
