You mean the Sure Kill Distress Way!
When I arrived in Dayton to take a job in 1985, the I-10 curve around Dayton was under construction.
It was still under construction when I retired 31 years later.
We would visit Arizona in the summers and see a freeway begun one summer and completed the next. Shocking difference.
AZ built two major freeways in less than seven years, less time than it took OH to build A SINGLE OFFRAMP at Austin Landing.
Make it a toll road and it can be done in four years.
Sounds like Illinois. No sooner is a highway job completed after years and years, when it has to be started all over again due to cheesy materials, shoddy workmanship etc. Provides crooked contractors and even more crooked unions with lifetime careers. As an added benefit it generates a lot of kickbacks to politicians.
I live in southern UT. Great roads...no tolls. No parking meters either. The streets in town were laid-out by the pioneers...wide enough to turn around a 4-horse wagon. Also, we only pay 3 cents per kwh for electricity. So far this winter has been two mornings when the temps were in the low 20’s...no snow. Note: all LIBs stay away.
Get rid of the Unions and things would be done in 1/3rd the time and 1/10th the cost.
