It came out during the same month that Britain declared war on Argentina over the Falkland Islands, and many ships and Royal Navy Fleet were traveling around 10,000 miles from Southampton to the South Atlantic in order to engage the Argentine Military — and when the song came out, the British Government thought that it would demoralize the sailors.
