MARRIED Melinda and Larry Mikla have an unconventional age gap in their relationship - of 30 years. The lovestruck pair get stares everywhere they go, from passers-by who think they are dad and daughter, or worse, a granddaughter and her grandpa. The pair met when retired police officer Larry was the first responder to a minor traffic incident involving Mindy’s car in Ohio, USA, in August 2012. Now the couple are trying for a baby, but don’t know if it will be possible due to Larry having a vasectomy 18 years ago.

The high probability of divorce and being divorce raped and a payer of alimony and child support for two decades is what’s turning men off from marriage.
Its a one person contract only, only enforced on the man.
Tell me about it, a friend of mine went through absolute hell ended up paying $250,000 in legal fees alone fighting for custody of the kids, then visitation, his ex-wife was a total b**ch who wanted him gone totally out of his kids life, and he didn’t do ANYTHING abusive to them at all, she just wanted a new guy and she went full psycho and totally wiped him out, and yep, he is paying child support.
You know, one time, in a comedic refrain, I heard Rodney Dangerfield say, “Beautiful kids. Beautiful kids. You have beautiful kids. Thank God my wife had the presence of mind to cheat on me”.

Yes marriage is very unappealing to the man...or whatever is left of maleness...he will live to regret that liaison...

I was 20 when my dad died, so I had a pretty good amount of time with him.

It reminds me of a local retired FBI guy so old he can barely walk, puzzled about why a married neighbor was overtly hitting on him. Well, maybe she looked up your life expectancy...

I don’t know the reason but can not fathom why a young woman would want to be with an old guy.....it can’t be the sex...

Had a very close friend..... we were both 13. His mom in her 50’s and his dad in his early 80s. He died not long after that. Jack didn’t get to spend quality time with his dad. No hunting, fishing, outdoor activities. These age differences have an impact the offspring.
So, why did she marry him?
And of course, surely he can provide for her and the kid, even if he dies.
I also read that men of any age are able to father children.
