A US Navy submarine commander has been fired after he hired ten prostitutes to party in his hotel room.
Captain Travis Zettel, of the USS Bremerton, paid for the women while his submarine was on a “farewell” tour of the Philippines last March.
The commander is said to have bragged to two sailors at a hotel pool that he’d “ordered ten girls to arrive at the hotel,” according to the Kitsap Sun.
At the time the sub was docked at Subic Bay in the country.
One of the sailors then saw around ten “provocatively dressed” women outside the hotel entrance later that evening.
The commander’s boasting was then reported to Naval Criminal Investigative Service agents.
When confronted about the allegations, Zettel admitted to investigators he had paid for “female accompaniment”.
During the same tour, another sailor was seen with three “local females holding onto his arm as he was wandering around”.
A criminal probe was launched in May.
Zettel was relieved of his command in August last year after the Navy cited a loss of confidence in his command but did not go into detail for the reasons why.
He has now been reassigned to Submarine Squadron 19 at the naval base Kitsap-Bangor in Washington state but it has not been revealed what position he holds.
The other sailor spotted with the three women has not been named and did not face any disciplinary action.

That use to not be a problem as long as it was on your free time, but I guess times have changed.

As an old roommate, who had 6 years in the Navy, used to say: “If you’ll go down on a submarine you’ll go down on anything.”
He no doubt neglected to be inclusive and committed the modern sin of being divisive. If he hired male, homosexual and trans prostitutes as well, today’s Navy brass would have not minded.

A much higher percentage of the diseases are resistant to treatment, and the host country is trying to reign in the sex trades and requested (in as much as the command can stop our troops from participating) help from nations docking troops in the Philippines.
When I was there were plenty of girls for those looking for someone to marry - no need to hire a pro. Had we not had a sudden troop movement I would have married young.
Maybe they were undocumented domestic helpers?
He deserves to be fired for getting caught. I expect a high level of sneakiness and discretion from our attack boat skippers.

he's a disgrace to the military and the once proud Navy that my father AND my mother were in.....
wonder if this sweet guy has a wife?..kids?...bet his mom is so humiliated....
