What if, as Ancient Astronaut theorists believe, the Great Pyramid of Giza that is standing on the current surface of the landscape, is actually only the tip top of a much larger tower built beneath the currently visible stones.
After all, the Sphinx was originally built in a pit that was filled with sand for thousands of years.

Heh, I've loved Georgio since I first expedrienced him in the "Is There A Stargate?" vid extra on the DVD version of the movie "Stargate". VonDanniken appears in it as well. He's massively entertaining, and as an acquaintance once said of the National Inquirer, "it's the only thing you can trust." ;^)
