It kind of demonstrates something I thought about, although certainly I’m not advocating the level of extreme seen in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge years:
Maybe the cure for peoples’ love of Socialism, is to actually force them to endure living under it for a few years.
I’m trying to think a country where socialism has ushered in an era of wealth and opportunity for the common people in just a single generation.
Russia?
Cuba?
Venezuela?
Still thinking ...
The polled people in different countries to gauge the population’s views on Capitalism.
The country that had the most favorable view of Capitalism amongst the population: Vietnam
CAPITALISM!
Capitalism works.
Every time it’s tried....................
In the US Mr. Lim would be reviled by the American Left and be considered a right wing Trump type.
Cambodia is the Democratic party’s playbook today: Kill anyone who could remotely oppose them.
My son works in Asia and love to vacation in unusual places. He had a great time in Cambodia. He also enjoyed Laos, which he said was very quiet and restful. In contrast to Vietnam which he says is the noisiest country he’s ever been to, and he’s been to many.
Just an observation.
Mr. Lim and his fellow countrymen learned to work hard from an early age. Not only did they work hard, but they worked hard for others, with minimal compensation.
Today, Mr. Lim and his fellow countrymen continue to work hard, as they learned in their youth. But now they work for themselves and are allowed to keep the fruits of their labor.
Compare that to the USA where portions of our population have never worked at all and yet feel they are entitled to the fruits of other peoples labors.
Are you listening, North Korea?
