"It'll work this time!"
A problem with socialism is that all the people cheerleading for it envision themselves as part of the ruling apparatchik. Nobody ever says, "You guys run things from behind a desk. I'll go work in the coal mines! Yay socialism!"
and why not? the people cheering for it believe themselves better than the average American and know what’s best for everyone.
Not for one minute do they think they’ll miss out on any of the goodies or opportunities available. They’ll be unaffected by any unpleasant side affects.
the hillbillies and slobs will go without, but that’s fine.
