This is why television ads for years now have had to use music from the 70’s and 80’s. There are no bands, musicians, or songwriters today; just insipid little millennials singing insipid little songs that all sound exactly alike. There’s no substance to the songs and no talent possessed by the singers. Oddly enough, one of the very few exceptions is Lady Gaga. Never would have thought I would compliment her, but after her Super Bowl performance a couple of years ago I have to say that while super strange and of course a liberal idiot, she does certainly have talent.

Lady Gaga...

Yes she does! I've heard several songs she did that I liked. I don't know how many I would actually like since I don't listen to the stations that play her very often, but I can't knock her; girl's got talent!

I think TV/commercials use older music because after a certain amount of time it is legal... Remember 1st time hearing Led Zepplin for Cadillac commercial - knew I was old..

Depends on what they're selling and who their selling it to.

Every time I turn on the TV there's that Cadillac commercial with the 2014 "Bang Bang" song.

A lot of the stuff nowadays is written by middle-aged Swedish men.

Maybe it always was.
