I am a Millennial and my two favorite songs of all time are both from 1976 ( Don't Fear The Reaper and The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald )
I too have a great distaste for rap.
You have good taste. Love both. Don’t Fear the Reaper I played over and over again as a kid.
Who knew you had some good taste in music? ;)
Add “Sultans of Swing” and you just might make the grade.
Rap is awful. So angry and hateful. And the pop songs of today sound like they were created by a software program and not humans.
The 1964-1985 period was the best musicwise
Have you listened to Lightfoot’s song “Sundown”?
Blue Oyster Cult and Gordon Lightfoot....cool!!!
Don’t fear the reaper is like an OK song, but, like, I think it needs more cowbell or something.
I saw BOC at "Bessie's Boathouse", Norfolk VA, in 1987. Drinking lots of beer, leaning on the stage, "singing" along with the band. Talked with them some after the concert. Ears were still ringing 24 hrs later. Good times.
Also saw Bachman Turner Overdrive at the Boathouse. They took care of business ...
Sadly, it is no more.
I am a huge Gordon Lightfoot fan and have been since my teens.
