That’s true. At the time they got Stanton I’m sure they were OK with what they had there. It’s interesting that there’s never been a conversation about moving Stanton to 1B. Sanchez has been such a defensive liability as a catcher that they would probably move him there first.

I know. I read the book.
DHs tend to be power-first guys like the bloated “Big Papi.” We don’t need another Dave Kingman/Rob Deer type slugger in every lineup. Give me a great singles and doubles hitter.

Watching the Mets they have Chili Davis as hitting coach and they seem to have a lot of non Charlie Lau hitters. Robinson Cano is one who hits to all fields.
