I know somebody, who told me, one of their relatives was a teacher. She went from a big city district, where they had major discipline problems, to a small town.
And she took a big pay cut to go teach in the small town. However, the discipline and other ancillary headaches of teaching were much less for her in the small town. And the lower cost of living helped compensate for the smaller paycheck.
Probably the Luxembourg teachers get paid so much because they have to play on the national soccer team, and well Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain right around the corner. It ain’t easy.
Yes, teaching in many if not most big cities ought to include some sort of danger pay.
