Our neighbor’s husky comes by every night for a milk bone. That’s when he’s behaving. When he started coming over 4 and 5 times a night I had to run him off. Been working on getting him used to making only two trips now.

"Buying another goat" means little if the farmer is keeping track of his breeding linage, 1) to keep the cattle of getting interbred and breeding out the traits he doesn't want in his herd.and 2) he is establishing the desired traits of his herd and the offspring he wishes to pass on these traits to get the best product he can when selling and show the providence to prospective buyers.

It's not just the calves the dogs kill outright, it's also the whole herd that the dogs chase and run the fat off the cattle.

The stress that leaves them susceptible to diseases, parasites, destruction of fences(as the calves run through them and tear their flesh, letting them get infections)

This can cost the cattleman hundreds, even thousands of dollars

The farmer has the spring calving, the calves spent the summer growing, gaining weight off the pasture. Farmers keeping an eye on the daily market price his calves, steers, cows and bulls are getting according to the local feedlots and weight classes.

The farmer could be out a lot of money and holding them over the winter period adds more expensive as he now has to use limited hat and sillage he stored to help winter over the rest of his herd til the pastures and hay/corn/wheat and soybeans are planted and ready to harvest herd.

So just paying for a calve at the time of it's killing by a dog will not cover the expenses the farmer relied to pay his espenives he put into the animal.

This does not include the cows or bulls that broke its legs running from the attacking dog(s) that running the cattle to exhaustion of break a leg in a old groundhog hole and won't get compensation because "it didn't have the bigs of a canine attack.

I watched Westminster, too.. up until the point the commentators made a snarky remark about the dog named Trump. They assured the audience he was not named for the President.
Leftists just can't control themselves. I don't need to watch their dumbass shows.
