Best 'anti-wall' article I've seen. The hole in his argument IMO is the military, nor civil, role of the wall.

The Rule of Law died in January of 2009. David French wants to lose with dignity, not win.

Because NRO has such respect for “the rule of law.”

NRO has always been a den of open borders advocates.
One hundred percent of all arguements against the wall, and one hundred percent of the people who support those arguements outright ignore (not minimize, but ignore) the preamble of the Constitution.

Trump’s Emergency Declaration Is Contemptuous of the Rule of Law

We have twenty or thirty million illegals in this country, we have a Congress that has failed to act, and Never Trumper David French thinks that Trump is the one who is contemptuous of the rule of law?

What a dope.

Interesting argument. Would building a wall protect the military from having to use time and resources on something that should not have to do? That’s my question. I don’t believe French’s argument is anywhere near cut and dried.

If you want to be rid of the Nazi dog David French, roll up a newspaper and swat him across the nose. Also punish this dog for not peeing on the rancid newspaper he works for.

So David "Mr Know-it-all" French's four loop pretzel of logic boils down to...

They are not defending the border from actual invasion as defined by the law of armed conflict or relevant American law. They are assisting in a law-enforcement mission that is mainly designed to prevent the commission of federal misdemeanors, not to stop an army that intends to take and hold American territory.

Nice pretzel Mr. French, however...

What the National Guard Cannot Do on the Border

Operating within the limitations of the Posse Comitatus Act, and as acknowledged by the Obama administration, National Guard troops deployed to the Mexican Border States should, as directed by the states' governors, support the Border Patrol and state and local law enforcement agencies by providing surveillance, intelligence gathering, and reconnaissance support. In addition, the troops will assist with "counternarcotics enforcement" duties until additional Border Patrol agents are trained and in place. The Guard troops may also assist in the construction of roads, fences, surveillance towers and vehicle barriers necessary to prevent illegal border crossings.

So, if the NG can do those things, other branches of the military can as well.

In 2017 alone, the number of Americans who died by drug overdose hit a new record, with more than 70,000 perishing. Much of the illicit drugs that tragically caused those deaths crossed our southern border.

Just recently, Customs and Border Protection announced “its largest fentanyl bust ever,” seizing 254 pounds of the synthetic opioid – enough to kill 57 million Americans.

In addition, ICE has arrested 266,000 criminal illegal immigrants over a two-year period. Those arrested faced 100,000 assault charges, 30,000 sex crime charges, and 4,000 charges for killings.

Yes it’s a shame that the congress and the media are so corrupt that Trump was forced to take this route. The danger is clear and unmistakable. That is why they are lying about even that fact. Trump did right and one only needs to look at the list of national emergencies declared to gauge it’s importance in comparison.
