Sonny also co-wrote “Needles & Pins” that became a hit for The Searchers.

This version, from two years earlier, is much better.

I do like Jackie de Shannon’s version and she was a hugely underrated singer/songwriter.

That said...I still prefer the Searchers’ version with their “jangly” guitar sound.

As an aside, I’m blessed to have a “dry” version burned direct from the studio master tapes by a friend who remastered their hits.
